Reserves suffer first league defeat!!.

The reserves suffered there first league defeat at the hands of closest title rivals Welling Athletic who although they had a bit of help from the referee did deserve the victory!
The day didn't start well for us with yet another late departure from the pub for an away match the reasons for which are still unknown!! So a late arrival but we can't even blame that for the result either!! We were second best in every department from the first whistle to the last and that pretty much sums up the whole game we conceded sloppy goals and didn't really create any chances!! We had a definite penalty turned down by the ginger idiot of a ref and scored a fortunate goal through Jack Longhurst but in the end we got what we deserved. A few people know that they let there team mates down badly and we're hoping for a reaction next week! There might of been a few leaves on the track but we definitely haven't been derailed let's get our title bid back on track.

Sunday 14 February

Reserves hammer Camden!!.

The mighty reserves secured yet another 3-2 victory against Camden with the scoreline flattering the opposition!! The game started with possibly the quickest goal in welsh tavern history Jay shanked his pass back to appsy from kick off and it went straight through to Hergo who scuffed his clearance out to the right wing to Jack Longhurst who crossed early for Jay to fire home on the volley off of his shin pad!! What a great advert for football in general!! The goal was officially timed at 7.632 seconds but seeing as that was from Seamus's " rollex " which read 5:40 at kick off we're going to wait for the referee's report!!!. We quickly doubled the league with Appsy firing home a 33 yard right foot screamer! He struck it that well he even had time to apologise to the keeper as it sailed passed him!.
Camden then got back into the game momentarily after an uncharacteristic mistake from the monk in goal who misjudged a long throw and ran straight underneath the ball which was consequently headed in. We then absolutely battered them for the remaining 35 minutes of the half but were as usual unable to increase our lead. The second half started pretty much the same as the first ended with us pressing for more goals and looking in complete control, but still unable to finish the game off! A special mention has to go to debutant lewis who somehow managed to get his body in a perfect position for an overhead kick then proceeded to toe-punt the ball 30 yards over the bar!!. We then conceded a late equaliser from another set piece with 14 minutes to go but all credit to the boys who didn't let their heads drop and went straight up the other end looking for the winner! In the end it took another intervention from Darren 'one man team' Chambers to secure the victory with an exocet throw in from the right which was then backheeled by Appsy into Jack's path who coolly slotted the ball home through the keepers legs for the winner.
Another victory then and we go on with our quest for silverware. Our next game is absolutely massive against Welling Athletic away and yes as predicted we have got Bradley Branning as ref so the odds are against us from the start! But yet again we'll go out and win the game because that's what we do!!!
