WELSH TAVERN – HISTORY The Club were Founded
in 1976 and started life as Dartford Supporters playing friendlies before
joining the North Kent Sunday Football League in 1980 and finishing their
first season second from bottom of the Combination Division. The only was
up and they were Division Four champions three year later and had reached
the Senior Division in 1991. A change of name to the Welsh Tavern Football
Club came in 1992 as an amalgamation of Dartford Supporters and
Swanscombe Legion and it marked the beginning of a succesful run. The club
have been league champions for the past four seasons. In 2005/06 the welsh
join the Kent Suburban Football League.
