10 man reserves win again!

The reserves continued there impressive season with another victory against supposedly higher opposition for the second week running with a 3-1 win over Plume of Feathers. We started slowly and were down to 10 men quickly after Ben"treacle"Webb was sent off for pulling down the plume striker after taking more time than a jumbo jet to turn and try and tackle him!! Luckily for us it was inside the box as well!! so we found ourselves down to 10 men( some would say we might as well of started with 10 anyway) and facing a penalty! Which was spooned over the bar fortunately for us. We then had to dig in for 15 minutes with DC slotting in at centre half and playing like a mixture of Glenn Hoddle and Gary Mabbutt! We never really looked like conceding we were also helped by the fact that the monk was in inspired form between the sticks. We took the lead just before the break through a Jay Chambers toe punt volley from a corner and saw out the half.
The second half kicked off with the Plume on top and putting us under pressure and it took some great saves from the monk to stop them equalising!! We then started to get ourselves back in to the game and doubled our lead through Lee Biggs after great work on the wing from Jack"the paki"Longhurst. We stayed solid after that and put the game to bed with our 3rd goal after a sublime 50 yard pass from DC found Wisey inside the box he picked out Michael Beattie who side footed home into the bottom corner. There was still time left in the game for the monk to make another couple of great saves and the Plume to get a consolation. But all in all it was nother great performance and we go on to the semi final full of confidence knowing that on our day we can beat anybody!! We can already say that we've had a good season but let's keep working hard and make it a great season!! The treble is still on boys!!!
